At the time of CAI's investment, Aster-Cephac, based in Paris, France, was a contract research organization specializing in providing clinical pharmacology and bioanalytical services to the international pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Aster-Cephac enabled its clients to maximize the profitability of products during the period of exclusivity by offering high-quality, value-added services designed to reduce drug development time. CAI sold its position in the company to a strategic buyer.

Bio-Research Laboratories Ltd.
At the time of CAI's investment, Bio-Research, located near Montreal, Quebec, was a contract research organization providing preclinical and bioanalytical research services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and chemical industries. Bio-Research had an extensive international client base, including many large and market-leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. CAI sold its position in Bio-Research to a strategic buyer.

Douglas Machine & Tool Co., Inc.
At the time of CAI's investment, Douglas Machine, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a leading manufacturer of industrial and aerospace gas turbine engine components. Widely considered to be the leading provider of drilling services to the turbine industry, Douglas Machine was named GE Power Systems' "Supplier of the Year" in 2002-2004. Its unique EDM process technology enables it to produce the lowest cost and highest quality precision components in the industry. An additional facility in Budapest, Hungary serves European customers. In 2007, Douglas Machine was merged into TurboCombustor Technology, Inc.
Livingston International Inc.
Livingston International (TSX:LIV.UN), based in Toronto, Ontario, is the leading customs brokerage and trade services company facilitating two-way trade between Canada and the U.S., the world's busiest trade lane. Its services include customs brokerage, customs consulting, freight, integrated logistics, event logistics and managed services. Prior to becoming publicly traded, Livingston was recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Private Companies. CAI sold its interest in Livingston to the public via an income trust IPO.

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.
MacDonald Dettwiler (TSX:MDA), based outside Vancouver, British Columbia, combines advanced satellite and aerial earth observation technology with wireless systems engineering to develop, market and sell land-based information systems, services and products to governments and corporations. The applications for MDA's systems range from tracking floods, forest fires, and arctic ice flows, to managing mobile assets such as airplanes, trucks or police vehicles. MDA provides additional land-related products and services, including maps, images and property information, on a customized basis and through its Internet storefront at Cartica.com. CAI sold its shares of MDA through public offerings and in the open market.

It contracts with large and medium-sized governmental and private-sector employers to provide employees with managed care dental plans, indemnity dental plans, vision benefit plans, administrative services and preferred provider services. Safeguard serves 1.8 million members in the United States, primarily in California, Florida, Texas and Nevada. CAI sold its position in SafeGuard to a strategic buyer.

At the time of CAI's investment, Sodisco-Howden, based near Montreal, Quebec, was a leading hardware products distributor to the Canadian home improvement industry. It served approximately 1,500 hardware retailers and home renovation centers from its Canada-wide distribution centers. CAI sold its shares of Sodisco-Howden in the open market.

Sunquest, based in Toronto, Ontario, is Canada's largest tour company. Sunquest designs and markets packaged tours from twenty departure points across Canada to a variety of international travel destinations, including the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and Europe. CAI sold its position in Sunquest to a strategic buyer.

Vista Midstream Solutions Ltd.
At the time of CAI's investment, Vista Midstream Solutions, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, acquired and operated assets in the midstream Canadian natural gas gathering and processing industry. Vista's focus was to build a diversified portfolio of midstream assets in the midsize market segment, which encompassed plants with processing capacities from 20 million to 100 million cubic feet a day. CAI sold its position in Vista to a strategic buyer.
White Mountain Insurance Group, Ltd.
White Mountains Insurance (NYSE:WTM) is a Bermuda-domiciled financial services holding company with executive offices in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Company's principal businesses are conducted through its subsidiaries and affiliates in the property-casualty insurance and reinsurance businesses. CAI sold its shares of White Mountains in the open market.

Zalev Metals Inc.
Zalev, based in Windsor, Ontario, collects, processes and supplies recycled ferrous and nonferrous metals for the North American steel and automotive industries. Zalev has yards in Windsor and Detroit, and a reputation as a low-cost producer of quality-controlled recycled metals that earned it Q1 Preferred Quality awards from Ford Motor Company and Rouge Steel and a Quality of Excellence Award from Chrysler Corporation.
